Thanksgiving Week 2024

If you’ve followed the band around to perform on football fields – this is an elevated experience you won’t want to miss! Lincoln Band families, friends, fans and alumni are invited to join us for a special trip to create some memorable experiences in New York City.

You’ll watch our marching band perform in the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, enjoy a holiday meal aboard a yacht with our students and much more! This 5-day, 4-night experience takes place Monday, November 25 until Friday, November 29, 2024. You can book this trip from anywhere in the US!

Family & Friends Package Options

We’re excited to partner with a longtime, trusted tour provider in NYC student travel experiences, Students on Broadway. (The SDSU marching band partnered with the same company for a memorable Macy’s experience.) There are no hard deadlines yet, but we need to start understanding interest. And the earlier you book and plan ahead, the easier it is to spread out installment payments.

Dates: Monday, November 25 until Friday, November 29, 2024 with option to add more days

Family, Friends & Alumni pay for the full amount of their trip package. The Band Parents Association is involved in partnering with the tour operator, Students on Broadway, which organizes both the student trip and the optional Family, Friends and Alumni Package. Some of the itinerary includes interaction and events with the band members. Others are separate.

Highlights include:

Stay in a Times Square area hotel that's walkable to many locations including the parade route, Broadway shows, Radio City Music Hall and much more.
Watch our LHS Band in the 98th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!!!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Dinner on a private yacht cruise just for LHS Band members and others LHS family, friends and alumni who get access through Students on Broadway.
Participate in a jam session in Central Park.
Choose to add on optional experiences including a NYC "get acquainted" tour, a Radio City show, and additional hotel nights for a longer holiday week stay in the Big Apple.
Some activities take place alongside our band members.
Take the worry away about transport if you choose Students on Broadway's charter flight or charter bus options to and from Sioux Falls. Or you can separately coordinate and book your own travel to and from NYC.

The BPA is not responsible for any portion of payment for those booking a Family, Friends and Alumni Package. You will book directly with tour operator Students on Broadway, and make your payments directly to them on their pre-determined schedule.

Family & Friends Package Costs: Core package ranges from $1,469 (single) to $2,912 (quad). All packages and add-ons subject to availability. Reserve early, so you get a spot!

Some activities are included. Others are a la carte and extra.
Core package price does not include transportation between Sioux Falls and NYC. You can add on charter bus or charter flight from Sioux Falls and organized by Students on Broadway (subject to availability). Or, you can book your own travel.

Payment Schedule

At time of booking: $100 per person
Remaining cost divided monthly with the final payment due in August

The core Family, Friends & Alumni package does not include travel to and from New York City. This allows for flexibility for you to book the transport that works best for you.

Add an a la carte option to take charter air or charter bus travel round trip between Sioux Falls and New York City, arranged and purchased through the tour operator, Students on Broadway
Book your own travel to NYC from Sioux Falls or anywhere in the US. This is a convenient option for extended family or college students not near Sioux Falls.
