Festival of Bands
Lincoln High School joins other Sioux Falls schools to host the Festival of Bands, which takes place the first Saturday of October each year. In 2025, join us on Saturday, October 4. The Festival brings bands from multiple states to Sioux Falls to compete in parade and field marching performances.

The Festival of Bands is a big fundraiser for band programs at Sioux Falls public schools and O'Gorman.

Our band also performs in exhibition (not for competition or scoring) in both the parade and the field marching events. ​​

Parade Performance

The parade starts at in the morning, and the route is moving back to downtown Sioux Falls! We are excited about the change! Help us make this a success by showing up for all the bands and supporting downtown businesses.

Attendance is free for spectators. Leave early and allow enough time for parking, street closures and getting to the parade route.

Field events start mid-morning and typically run through 10 pm at Howard Wood Field.

Performance time: 9:15 PM

Admission to the Field competitions is by wristband only and can be purchased from volunteers at the parade and Howard Wood Field.

Admission fees are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and children age 5 and under are free. Our band students are also free.
